In order to meet the expected surge in demand for Apple’s coveted tablet in this holiday season, Foxconn is said to te reportedly ship an enourmous 20 Million iPad 2 units in the coming quarter.  The mentioned figure seems huge, especially if you take into account the fact that in the last quarter, Apple had said that it had shipped a whopping 9.25 million units alone.

When the iPad 2 was first launched, Apple struggled to meet demand and its production suppliers faced many struggles to manufacture the required number of units. Apple has since then learnt from its mistakes and so has its production suppliers, and shipments for the coming quarter appear to be set for record breaking levels. Sales of the Apple Tablet have enjoyed constantly surging demand throughout the year and continue to do so till the anticipated launch of the 3rd Generation of the iPad.

Elgato Eye TV Dongle- Live TV on your iPad

by SyedT on September 8, 2011

Elgato is a well-known manufacturer of TV tuner cards for your Mac ecosystem at home. It has recently also launched an app that allows you to stream TV content to your iPad but that is only if the content is being broadcasted online on your home network. So basically if you are away from your home network, you cannot view the broadcasted channels on your iPad. To work around this problem, Elgato has created a mobile dongle that attaches directly to your iPad’s dock connector and pulls live TV through its miniature telescopic aerial, they call it the Elgato Eye TV Mobile. Essentially, the benefit of using this accessory is that you will not need an internet connection to view live TV. You get unlimited live TV on your iPad 2 without touching your data plan.

To use the Eye TV Mobile Dongle you will need to download an app from the Apple App Store, for free of course, which will allows you to access live TV channels through the dongle. You also have the ability to record the live streams and save them to your library to view again at a later time. The EyeTV Mobile will be available by the end of September and will set you back roughly $163.

It is a well-known fact that the iPad 2 is a serious video making and editing machine. The onboard camera that supports video recording up to 720p and the iMovie application that can be used to edit your movies professionally is proof of this claim. However, it is also very awkward to film while holding a 9.7’ tablet, the resulting video often is very shaky and does not do justice to the hardware and software features provided by the iPad 2. For this dilemma, the folks over at Makayama have designed a special movie mounting tripod that helps you radically improve video capture with your iPad 2.

The Movie Mount case allows you to attach additional accessories to your iPad 2, with the help of standard hot shoes, thus helping you in capturing professional video clips. Accessories that are supported with the Movie Mount include Wide angle and telephoto lenses, microphones and video lights. The tripod helps keep your iPad 2 still whilst recording and allows you to pan your shots with great ease. The Movie Mount is available to pre-order now for $69.95, with the first deliveries expected to ship in October. If you often find yourself using your iPad 2 to capture videos and long for a proper setup, then you should definitely order one for yourself now by clicking here.
